2016 Charleston Boat Show

Captain Mike Waller

Capt. Mike Waller has been fishing the waters of Charleston for over 40 years. Before becoming a guide, he won or placed in over 30 inshore tournaments. He has been a guide for the past 10 years for Kiawah Resorts and has been very involved in the local fishing community, heading and serving on several boards. Capt. Mike specializes in nearshore reef and sheepshead fishing and participates in the DNR tagging program, winning numerous awards for his efforts.

Captain Rich Harris

Rich Harris is the senior captain and is a certified U.S. Coast Guard 50 Ton Master Captain and Maritime Officer.  He has been near the water all his life and has fished all over the world in places like, Caracas Venezuela, Panama Canal, East Coast of Africa, Chesapeake Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. He is retired from the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served for 22 years, most of that time here locally at Charleston AFB, fishing inshore and offshore every chance he had.  Captain Rich is a Christian and a member of New Spring Church in North Charleston, so you are guaranteed good times in a great atmosphere with him.

Captain Brian Garris

Brian Garris is a certified U.S. Coast Guard 50 Ton Master Captain and Maritime Officer. He grew up fishing the waters of the Lowcounty from his fathers dock located in the Wando River. Living on the water as a child afforded him the opportunity to become intimately knowledgeable with the waters of the Charleston Harbor, Cooper River, Intercostal Waterway, and of course the Wando River. He is one of the founders of the East Cooper Fishing Club, an organization founded to help others become better fishermen while giving back to the local community.

Captain Scotty Davis

Captain Scotty Davis is the owner and founder of the Lowcountry Fly Shop and specializes in fly fishing charters out of his 18-foot East Cape Lostman. He’s been fishing the Lowcountry for over 20 years and has guided hundreds of hungry anglers, craving their first South Carolina redfish.

Captain Dave White

Captain Dave White is the owner and operator of Fishing Kayaks SC. The premier dealer for Malibu Kayaks in SC. Captain Dave moved to Daniel Island SC in 2002 and in 2003 joined the Daniel Island Inshore Fishing Club. In 2008 he earned his captains license and began taking families on fishing charters. In 2010 he started fishing from kayaks and kayak fishing has become his passion and business.

Angler Academy

The Lowcountry’s premier saltwater fishing school, the Angler Academy will be held on January 29th, 2017 upstairs at the Charleston Boat Show! You are invited to learn the latest in techniques and tackle from the regions leading captains. This is a comprehensive full day hands-on fishing school. Participants will receive a t-shirt, two boat show passes and a raffle ticket with his/her registration.  Be sure to bring your camera and be prepared to immerse yourself in a full day of advanced angling that will keep you producing fish year round.

Captain Don Dingman presents “Hook the Future” Kids Fishing Clinic.

Captain Don will teach children how to catch anything a grown up can with the right tackle.  This interactive clinic will not only educate your children on safety, it will teach them the joy of fishing.

Every child who attends will receive a FREE rod and reel along with other great prizes from Capt. Don!

CHARLESTON PIRATE TOURS TREASURE HUNT

Join the Charleston Pirate Tour crew for a swashbuckling adventure!  Eric and Sabrina, along with their trusty parrots, will lead their pirates through the Charleston Boat Show, following clues on treasure maps that lead to their missing booty.  When young buccaneers sign the log to join the crew, they’ll receive a balloon sword.  Then Eric and Sabrina will teach them some basic sword techniques and set out on the treasure hunt.  As they search for clues, the children will learn about some of Charleston’s exciting pirate history.  Of course, since the kids are part of the crew, they’ll get their share of the plunder, when they find the treasure chests!
