Pier & Surf Fishing

Focusing on species and habitat identification, discussion of effective local rigging techniques, fishing tactics to target game fish from pier, surf and flats, including casting and presentation techniques using artificial lures.

“As a child, I found bodies of water of all shapes and sizes to be intriguing and often daydreamed about what kind of fish roamed in the rivers, ponds, lakes and oceans. The first time I caught one of these underwater species of game fish became the start of a lifelong journey of fun, travel, learning and more. I remember easily the feeling that came over me on the day I landed my first fish because I have felt the same with every fish since, regardless of size or species.

As an adult, I am still intrigued and excited watching others catch fish and seeing the glow on someone’s face when they land their first fish. I’ve spent years studying feeding habits of many species, waterways, testing reels, rods, all types of lures, live and cut baits, developing numerous techniques to successfully land all kinds of game fish from those rivers, lakes, ponds and inshore saltwater. One of my goals is to pass my knowledge, experience and enthusiasm for fishing on to the next generation, so they can enjoy it and pass it on as well.” Jiggin’ Jerry
